“Greening Conscious Living – GCL” Project in Luxembourg

Dates: 4 – 13 June 2025
Location: Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg

The project Greening Conscious Living gathered young people, youth workers and community leaders from EU and Non-EU countries to learn, share and practice sustainable living. Together, they explored how eco-friendly habits can become part of daily life, community culture and youth work.

The project GCL promoted sustainable practices by equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to make conscious ecological choices. Through workshops, discussions, and practical activities, participants strengthened their role as advocates for sustainability and environmental responsibility in their communities. This initiative contributed to the EU’s environmental goals while encouraging participants to bring the spirit of sustainability into their own networks and youth projects.

One of the most impressive for participant visits during the project was the Recycling center SIVEC in Schifflange. Here we could witness the system of giving things a second life, either by recycling or cooperating with social organisations to reuse the goods.

Greening Conscious Living Training

Throughout the 10-day program, GCL aimed to:

  • Develop educational resources for teaching ecological living.
  • Raise awareness of the benefits of eco-friendly practices.
  • Provide practical tools and techniques for sustainable daily routines.
  • Empower participants to advocate for green living within their communities.
  • Encourage the multiplication of eco-friendly initiatives through local and international partners.
  • Inspire youth workers and educators to integrate sustainability into youth work.
  • Highlight the importance of environmental sustainability in Erasmus+ projects across Europe, EECA, and MEDA regions.
  • Foster a lasting culture of environmental stewardship.

The project not only enriched participants with new skills and perspectives but also built strong connections among partner organisations and local stakeholders. By returning home as ambassadors of ecological living, participants continue to multiply the project’s impact within their own communities.
